Synopsis
Part Nine of a fifteen-part BBC series comprising Shakespeare’s history plays from Richard II to Richard III (the two tetralogies). This is the first part of Henry VI. The victory at Agincourt confirms Henry V as a great military leader. Henry dies young, leaving an infant son in the protectorship of his brothers. The English nobles revive their quarrel about the rightful succession.

Part 2 of the first part of the Henry VI trilogy abridged and produced by Raymond Raikes and broadcast in two parts. The original stage directions are read by Gabriel Woolf and the music is played by the English Chamber Orchestra conducted by Rae Jenkins. This part contains Henry VI, Part I and Part II to Act IV Sc.1.
