Synopsis
Part 1 of the first of a three-part televised adaptation of Shakespeare’s minor tetralogy (three parts of Henry VI and Richard III) encompassing the period from the loss of the British Empire in France to the founding of the Tudor dynasty. Originally a Royal Shakespeare Company production directed by Peter Hall and John Barton, the four plays were condensed into three screenplays: Henry VI, Edward I and Richard III.
Henry VI Part I (1971) | Part 2
Part 2 of the first part of the Henry VI trilogy abridged and produced by Raymond Raikes and broadcast in two parts. The original stage directions are read by Gabriel Woolf and the music is played by the English Chamber Orchestra conducted by Rae Jenkins. This part contains Henry VI, Part I and Part II to Act IV Sc.1.
