Synopsis

Ten years after the Vietnam War, the Laos communist government has, for the first time, allowed a Western crew to film extensively in the country. The documentary explores the long-term future of Buddhism in a socialist state, where Buddhism remains deeply embedded in the fabric of society and the Sangha, or monk caste, continues to be held in high esteem.
