Synopsis
Millions lost their loved ones, but many millions more lost their homes, their businesses, their money and their valuables. Only now is evidence being unearthed that enables disinherited Jews to reclaim what belongs to them - an act of the most enormous symbolism for a race of people who have fought so bitterly to establish a homeland of their own. Fifty years on, governments throughout Europe are having to deal with the aftermath of returning, dispossessed Jews. Witness follows Zypora Frank, a sixty year old Polish Jew living in Israel, on her quest to prove that she is the heiress to an horrific legacy - the land on which the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp was built.
