Synopsis

The violence continues throughout the year. In February the IRA launch an attack on the cabinet when a mortar bomb explodes in the garden of 10 Downing Street. March sees the release of the ‘Birmingham Six', who were wrongly convicted and imprisoned for the Birmingham pub bombings of 1974.
